The War of The Worlds is coming to Perth…. in musical theatre and multimedia form!
Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds, Live on Stage! is landing in Burswood Dome, Perth on Saturday 8 September 2007.
Set in HG Wells Victorian England, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds brilliantly portrays the tale of Martians invading Earth and their terrifying trail of destruction. The stellar cast, from England, includes Justin Hayward and Chris Thompson, both re-creating their roles from the original album and the recent sell-out UK tour. They will be joined on-stage by Australia’s three-time MTV Best Male Artist of The Year Shannon Noll, plus the wonderful talents of Rachael Beck and Michael Falzon.
Tickets on sale from 21 May at 9am from Ticketek (presale from 16 May). Group discounts are available for groups 8+.

I think it looks amaziiing..
A load of friends from the UK saw this production and said it was completely unlike anything they’d ever seen and it came highly recommended so I’ll be going….. I think we all need exposure to new and original productions…. a point alone which is really worth going and checking it out. Just a little over reprised productions like Oliver and Grease so I’m there.
I’d be curious to see how Shannon Noll expands his range in this type of show too.
Anyone else?
Hi Dusty,
If we weren’t going overseas in September, I think we’d have gone, it looks really interesting, something new and different is always good, I think!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog :)

Read the book, Watched both the 1952 and Spielberg version, and listened to the original 1930s broadcast.
None of them compare to the atmospheric experience that is Jeff Wayne’s Musical version of WOTW.
As a child my father would play this symphonised splendour in our car cassette player on road trips, and it has a prescient place in my memories.
But enough with Nostaligia, basically this will be a lifetime experience. An experience to see what it would be like to be under invasion whilst also on LSD, the magic of Jeff Waynes Performance lies in his ability to create the illusion of reality through extraordinary details and sound effects.
Having that been said ULLLLAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
Go get some tix, cause they’re almost all sold out and you will not regret it.

Can’t wait.
Greg and I are seeing it in September in Perth.
Thanks for the responses by others at this post.
It makes me glad that we booked to see it.
Cheers, Thea
My father is reluctant to see this but I am hoping it will make a lovely belated fathers day suprise, in addition to a present.
The music is fantastic and the voices are gorgeous.
Saw it last night, besides the kinda bad seating it was amazing!
We saw WOTW in Sydney & it was amazing!
Our family have been huge fans since the record came out & we all knew it off by heart,we had the Dvd of the stage show also but being there in person was just magic, the atmosphere was filled with excitement & anticipation of what was ahead & none of us were dissapointed. I thoroughly recommend it,& would go again if the opportunity arose.
Thank you Jeff for coming to Oz & sharing your talents with us,its truly appreciated!
