The humongous Spring tour is an opportunity for literally hundreds of thousands of Aussie fans to partake in what will be a huge event in every location it visits. Most regional centres on the expansive itinerary won’t have seen a rock & roll show like this since tours by the likes of Midnight Oil and INXS in the 1980s.
POWDERFINGER and SILVERCHAIR have chosen to use the shows to draw attention to a cause which is close to the hearts of the members of both bands – reconcile.org.au This website fronts a campaign aimed at reducing the 17-year gap in life expectancy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous children. reconcile.org.au reaches across the historic divide in respect, trust and understanding to generate a national conversation about bridging the gap.

At each show, the groups will play sets of equal length with their full concert production. A special guest artist will open proceedings, then SILVERCHAIR will perform followed by POWDERFINGER.
ACROSS THE GREAT DIVIDE will be a carbon-neutral event. POWDERFINGER and SILVERCHAIR will be offsetting their carbon emissions associated with the tour (approximately 800 tonnes). They will be doing this through the purchase of accredited and independently verified carbon offsets purchased from a West Australian renewable energy wind farm via Climate Friendly.

I was so excited about Powderfinger and Silverchair coming but have already bought tickets to see Snow Patrol on the same night.
What is the deal with all these awesome bands playing on the same night???
Oh no, I hadn’t even realised yet that it was on the same date! (hadn’t put this one in the calendar yet, oops!). Yes, what shame/how annoying!
I just did exactly the same!!! already have my snow patrol tickets and was hoping that siverchair and powderfinger would at least be playing over a number of nights rather than just the one but alas… :(

How come they aren’t playing more shows in regional WA and NT areas? The cause they are supporting implied to me that they would be playing in areas such as these..
im going on camp that exact day. 2 awesome bands and only 1 night in perth…typical…grrrr
Cass: I don’t know, and I’m dissapointed too, especially as a big deal was made that they’d be playing lots of regional venues. Obviously only over east, and even there, there aren’t that many.

I think this show will sell out in about 2 seconds though, and they’ll add another one (but that will probably be the day after, so that won’t help you Ben)

It turns out the tickets for the show on the 22nd sold out in 10 MINS that just shows you how popular they are, and because of this they announce there will bee second show the next day (23rd) talk about being good to your fans. :-)
