Free matinee film screenings have started again at the Alexander Library in Perth, each Wednesday from 12.30 at the Perth Cultural Centre (north of central train station), until November.
The Fremantle Village Art Markets are held from 10am to 5.30pm every Thursday until the end of April.
The Mandjar Markets are held at the Waterfront in Mandurah every Sunday from 1 to 5pm until the end of April.

The Spirit of the Horse, a two and half hour choreographed horse show including special effects, will be happening at Burswood Dome in Perth on 26 and 27 May 2007. In short, it’s ‘equestrian theatre’.
The acts include - the incredible stunt & trick riding troupe from california known as - ‘the Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls’ & the wizardry brilliance & master of trick riding & comedy - american sensation & showstopper ‘Tommie Turvey Jnr’. There will also be ‘the running of the mob’ at the opening of the show - ‘dressage’ - ‘whip cracking’ and a spectacular ’showjumping competition’.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketek from 2 April, and prices vary from $40 to $80, depending on concession, adult or junior status, A or B reserve. There are also family tickets available.

Happy Zoo Year - Sunday 31 December 2006
Peters Trumpet Happy Zoo Year is Perth Zoo’s unique way of celebrating New Year’s Eve with your young family.
Share the excitement of counting down to the New Year on the giant kids’ clock at the special children’s time of 9:00pm with live band “Murphy’s Lore” and a host of other great entertainers. Tickets from BOCS.
The Rat Pack’s Back Concert - 10 February 2007
Australia’s very own Rat Pack has burst onto the scene in a tongue and cheek cabaret act, evoking the style of the infamous American Rat Pack. With a reverberant drum roll, they will take to the stage with soaring live vocals and fully choreographed, audience-interactive renditions of some of the world’s most loved songs, made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jnr. Tickets from BOCS for $40, infants free.
Fab Four - Beatles Tribute - Saturday 17 February 2007
This Perth Beatles Tribute band will be performing at the first Zoo Tribute night of the season. You have the chance to see the animals in the zoo for about an hour before the show. Tickets from BOCS.
ABBR - ABBA Tribute - Saturday 24 February 2007
The second Zoo Tribute night, with an ABBA tribute band. Please also note, that you will not have entry to the zoo for the whole day before this event, see details at BOCS.
Tripod - comedy night - Saturday 10 March 2007
Scod, Yon and Gatesy are Tripod - one of Australia’s most popular and distinctive comedy acts. After winning an ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release in 2005, they have decided that a performance at Perth Zoo will be the next pinnacle of their career! Tickets at BOCS for $40, infants free.
Some of the other things mentioned on the Perth Zoo website are the Christmas Capers weekend on 9 + 10 December, Amazing Asia Month in January, and Trish the Elephant’s 50th 20 and 21 January 2007 (long labour?!).
